Salary Range: $44,000 to $55,900

The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Academic Support Services for Athletics, this position is responsible for activities associated with student-athlete academic support services, which includes supervising academic advising/counseling processes of student-athletes, overseeing academic progress report (APR) and graduation success rate (GSR) data collection and entry for assigned student-athletes/teams, organize and conduct recruiting visits for prospective student-athletes, and supervising aspects of the admission and orientation processes for incoming student-athletes. This position will have work responsibilities on evenings and weekends. This position may require occasional overnight travel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Student-Athlete Advising and Counseling
For your assigned teams, direct day-to-day academic counseling responsibilities for athletic programs including course scheduling, academic progress monitoring, individual academic counseling, and NCAA certification/continuing eligibility. Meet regularly with coaching staff on matters pertaining to student-athlete success.
Student-Athlete Admission and Orientation
Working directly with the Office of Admissions, oversee the admissions process for assigned student-athletes. Assist with the Student-Athlete orientation and welcome days program that will complement the University of St. Thomas freshman transition process.
Prospective Student-Athlete Recruiting
Meet with prospective student-athletes (PSA) for your assigned teams during official and unofficial visits. Create programming specific to each PSA and present information related to the University of St. Thomas’ academic programs, procedures and resources.
APR and GSR Data Collection and Tracking
Maintain thorough records of your assigned student-athletes progress towards degree, attrition information and expected graduation dates to project, track, and report on APR and GSR Data.
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Three years of academic counseling experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
