OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for an Executive Director, Shenehon Center for Real Estate (Program Director I) position within the Opus College of Business. 

 

This position requires a high level of flexibility and mobility. While the executive director will maintain a primary connection to the university and the Shenehon Center for Real Estate, much of the work will occur off-campus at meetings, events, and engagements within the business community. The role is not considered a traditional remote position; however, it is not exclusively office-based. The executive director should expect a mix of on-campus presence and off-site professional activities, with occasional local travel as needed.

Salary Range: $93,000 to $100,000

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The executive director leads the Shenehon Center for Real Estate. In collaboration with the academic director of Real Estate Studies, the director co-develops the Center’s strategic plan, mission, and strategic priorities. The executive director is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and administering Center programs and outreach in several areas: Strategic partnerships/collaborations, fundraising/sponsorships, educational engagements and events, outreach and promotion, and integration with OCB faculty and academic programs connected to real estate. The executive director also implements and manages critical administrative and operational processes related to communication, resource management, and promotion of the Center.

 

The executive director plays a substantial role in developing productive relationships and effective communications with several critical audiences, including strategic business partners, the Center’s Advisory Board, and the University of St. Thomas faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

 

The executive director may undertake some travel and will require remote access to have the capability to remain in contact with other Center and OCB staff and faculty.

 

This position is eligible for the Remote Access Allowance.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Leads the Shenehon Center for Real Estate in collaboration with the academic director of Real Estate. Works collaboratively with the academic director to identify, create, and implement strategic plans to enhance Center effectiveness and impact through the creation of educational opportunities and strategic partnerships that promote and support Real Estate Studies to the academic community, students, and the business public.
  2. Leads the Center’s development and management of all programs and processes in support of strategic initiatives. This includes the annual Real Estate Hall of Fame Award ceremony; the alumni golf outing; Real Estate Expo; Alumni relations, content, and website development/management; supervision of event coordinator; budget management and marketing/PR efforts, and other programs development in alignment with the Center’s strategy.
  3. Partners with OCB Advancement, academic director of Real Estate, and Real Estate Advisory Board to advance program sponsorship and fundraising efforts to support the growth and sustainability of our academic program. This includes identifying and cultivating relationships with corporate partners, securing sponsorships, and developing strategic funding opportunities.
  4. Serves as a liaison and strategic partner to internal university stakeholders (for example, other Center Directors) and to external stakeholders (local, national, and global) to develop and/or support business engagements that align with the Center’s strategic plan, mission, and priorities. Additionally, serve as a co-liaison with the academic director to the Center’s endowment funders to maintain consistent communication and engagement with the Center.
  5. Develops and manages Center administration and operations, including annual financial planning and budgets, annual reporting, OCB/university reporting requirements, and other administrative tasks as defined on an as-needed basis. Manages the Part-time Real Estate Marketing and Events Coordinator.
  6. Serves as a supportive asset where needed for OCB on an as-needed basis in alignment with the Center strategic plan, mission, and priorities, including managing the reporting for Center activities in support of accreditation and college-level strategic planning.
  7. Leads research efforts conducted or sponsored by the Shenehon Center for Real Estate, including annual industry sentiment surveys and other primary and/or secondary research to support the real estate industry and build brand awareness of the Center and OCB Real Estate Program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Real Estate Studies, or a related field
  • A DMV background check is required for this position.
  • Five years of professional program administration experience preferably in the area of Real Estate

and/or

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the real estate industry.

An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
