Salary Range: $74,500 to $80,000

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Enterprise Developer serves as a key member of the Enterprise Applications Operations team, supporting the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, currently Ellucian Banner—managed by the University of St. Thomas hosted in the AWS Cloud. This position collaborates closely with IT Architects, Database Administrators, and ERP Software Engineers to design, development, test and maintain the enterprise applications and integration solutions that enable seamless communication between internal and external systems.

 

The Enterprise Developer’s key responsibilities include troubleshooting complex data and integration issues, monitoring system performance, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple platforms.

 

This role requires expertise in developing and implementing custom solutions using a variety of tools and technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of integration patterns, ETL tools, and enterprise architecture principles to deliver secure, high-performance solutions that maintain data integrity and support the university’s operational goals.

 

Required Daily/After-Hours Communication

The person in this position must have access to wireless communication device for the ability to be reached during and/or after normal work hours to provide support, answer questions and/or provide input for required decisions on short notice as is required of a manager, application owner or support person.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Lead Enterprise Information Systems Development and Provide ERP Support

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise information systems and integrations.
  • Provide ERP support, assist with ERP upgrades, and ensure all development efforts follow established software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.
  • Plan, design, develop, and test data integration solutions, including ETL processes, APIs, data pipelines, database queries, workflows, data transformations, and data transfers between internal and external systems.
  • Collaborate with users, business analysts, technical staff, and external vendors to ensure solutions meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Maintain high standards for data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all integration points.
  • Troubleshoot complex data and system issues, identify root causes, and implement both short-term fixes and long-term process improvements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including integration processes, technical specifications, and data flow diagrams.

Project Management

  • Provide leadership and project management for ERP development and integration initiatives.
  • Develop project plans and timelines, coordinate project team efforts, and ensure successful, timely, and cost-effective project completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Support end-user training and documentation as needed to ensure successful adoption of new or updated systems.

ITS & UST Procedures and Policies

  • Follow and support department protocols for all department specific procedures and policies such as communication, change management, outage planning, customer services, and tracking and resolving issues.
  • Attend to administrative tasks such as attending department/team meetings, send and receive email, respond to voicemail.
  • Call/incident tracking, Installation and Inventory, Knowledge Base and Communication Guidelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and ERP system to recommend and implement improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science/QM or Certification in Computer Programming/Operations

  • Three years of related professional experience with programming and operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in higher education/instruction instate
  • Experience working as a collaborative lead preferred, including building and maintaining collaborative and flexible teams

  • Setting team priority and direction as needed
