OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a part-time Coordinator I position for the Four Pillars Project. 

 

This position is grant-funded and we anticipate funding for up to 4 years, with a full time equivalency (FTE) of 0.5 or 20 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY

The Four Pillars Project is an initiative to strengthen and support character education throughout the university, with a focus on the four cardinal virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance. This a a 0.5 FTE position for at least four years, to support the faculty director and project team in coordinating all activities, to provide logistical support to faculty, staff, and student groups hosting trainings and student events, and to support data collection activities.

 

Salary Range: $17.50 to $23.00/hr

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administrative support for the faculty director

  • Maintain calendar of meetings and events
  • Create and maintain records of events and activities for program evaluation

Advisory support

  • Attend and contribute to monthly advisory board meetings
  • Advise the faculty director on an ongoing basis, especially regarding logistical matters

Budget support

  • Monitor and update budget
  • Order supplies, pay invoices
  • Manage internal budget transfers (between indexes)

Communication support

  • Create/edit correspondence: letters, emails
  • Update information on project website
  • Connect with potential collaborators across university departments, offices, and centers

Event support

  • Reservations, catering orders
  • Communication and publicity
  • Speaker arrangements and honoraria

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school education or the equivalent
  • Two years of administrative support and/or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • College level course work in philosophy or a closely related field
