Salary Range: $16.40–$19.80/hour

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position exists to process & ship online orders as well as assist in the coordination and work flow within the mail center.

Including the following duties: to direct work flow, meter, sort and distribute mail, deliver mail if necessary. To provide back-up

coordination to the mailroom, train student help to meter, sort and deliver mail and direct work flow. Assist with chargebacks to

ensure appropriate funds are being allocated to the Mail Room.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Processing online Campus Store Orders and shipping them out with all relevant paperwork filed. If the order cannot be filled, the order will be routed to the appropriate buyer for resolution. Following up on backorders to ensure that orders are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the directing interoffice and external mail services; establishes and implements policies, procedures, and standards for assuring timely processing and delivery of a variety of mail and packages communicates information to the campus community. Route Mail and packages to inside and outside runs.
  • Knowledge of the regulations regarding domestic and foreign shipping as well as pricing and cost saving services to the community. Handling the process and management of the postage meter machines, and metering mail. Ensure chargebacks are applied to the mail room.
  • Train student workers on all aspects of the Mailroom operations & MBS order processing on Minneapolis and St Paul Campuses. Schedule students to meet the needs of the Mailroom while staying within the budget.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Campus Stores/Mail Services which will include assisting in any of the campus store(s) during high traffic/peak times to be assigned by the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent

  • Two (2) years of experience in a mailroom or office setting

  • Must have a MN driver’s license with no outstanding violations

  • Completion of a DMV background check
