OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Program Coordinator (Coordinator I) position within the Opus College of Business.

 

Success in this role requires significant in-person engagement with students, colleagues, and campus visitors so a regular presence on our vibrant St. Paul campus is necessary. After the training period is complete, limited remote work days may be possible during certain times of the academic year.

Salary Range: $23.10 - $25.40 an hour

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for supporting current students. The Program Coordinator will greet

students and respond to student requests to effectively develop and deliver a positive student experience. In addition, the

Program Coordinator will work with faculty and staff to support programmatic direction through communication, faculty

meetings and student feedback. Works closely with the Program Directors and Academic Director.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Staff & Lead McNeely Hall Front Desk Operations: The McNeely Hall 128 suite serves as the Opus undergraduate business program student services hub, and “front desk of the college” for all students, faculty, and campus visitors (often prospective students & families). This position will greet all visitors, field and triage all questions/concerns/requests and direct them to appropriate resources, and train the student workers/interns to do the same. Monitor appropriate general program and college email inboxes, providing support to students or referring to appropriate parties. Serve as key contact for various building and classroom maintenance to submit service requests as needed.
  • Manage Opus student employment hiring/training/supervision processes: Lead the recruitment, hiring, training, and deployment of a pool of 15-20 student workers. Typically two experienced student workers are designated “managers” among the pool, and assist with the training and deployment of the others. Students will be scheduled to fill various desk service positions, provide event support, and/or complete administrative tasks and project work for faculty in support of their class delivery or research activities. Support Asst. Program Directors with employment/hiring/payroll processes for the marketing/communications interns and peer tutor positions they recruit, hire and train.
  • Program/College administrative support: Maintenance of OneStThomas and Canvas digital resource pages for undergraduate program academic requirements and advising/registrations processes. Provide support for faculty advising, curricular review/update processes, AOL and AACSB accreditation teams and committees. Assist with event planning, reservations, and logistics for academic program or college events including student clubs, organizations, recruiting and admissions events, information sessions, scholarship selection days, etc.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned: Assists departmental staff, faculty, directors and deans in day-to-day program operations including, but not limited to, data entry, reporting, Canvas support and assistance, syllabus entry for AACSB accreditation, advisor assignments and BUSN 200 (service learning requirement) program support.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school education or the equivalent
  • Two years of administrative support experience, preferably in higher education
