Salary Range:$38,525 to $53,000

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The creative Video Producer is responsible for planning and creating video content for Tommie Athletics. As a key piece of growing the St. Thomas brand, this position will visually tell the story of Tommie Athletics through inspiring and energizing videos that give fans and recruits a look into what it means to be a Tommie. The creative Video Producer will take direction from the Assistant Athletic Director – External Relations and the Associate Director, Creative Video, collaborating with athletics staff to generate cutting edge content for department needs, as well as supporting promotion of teams.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Shoot and edit videos in both short- and long-form, (sometimes with a quick turnaround). These video types include, but are not limited to, intro videos, behind-the-scenes segments, feature stories, interviews, and hype videos to be used in showcasing and promoting the St. Thomas Athletics brand through multiple platforms (social media, website, marketing, in venue, broadcast, etc.), including in the new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
  • Assist with all elements of production shoots including specific shot list, lighting, audio, set, camera work, and post-production, including music and editing.
  • Develop and maintain digital media inventory and archives. Develop and maintain equipment and supplies inventory, including all camera equipment, storage devices, and travel gear.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal partners, including marketing, communications, academics, event management, Tommie Sports Properties (Learfield), administration, development and all 21 varsity teams, including those playing in Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
  • Direct student staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of experience creating video content
  • High proficiency in videography including lighting, audio, shooting, and editing

  • Knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Athletics-specific experience

  • Knowledge of advanced editing software such as motion graphics and graphic design

  • Experience working with student employees
