Salary Range: $21.00/hr to $26.40/hr

 

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position will solicit and respond to off-campus requests to hold events on campus. This position will coordinate with different departments including Facilities, ITS, Catering, Residential Life, and Dining Services.  This position will need to attend trade shows and monitor email to schedule events on both campuses.  Once the contract is signed, the event will be turned over to the Catering and Events team to complete the catering and execute the event.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor email box, websites and other communication for individuals and groups seeking information to use the University of St Thomas’ facilities. Coordinate with Catering, Facilities, Technology Services and Resident Life for each event. This position will schedule events on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.
     
  • Attend bridal shows and other events to solicit business. Create marketing materials and use social media and other means to advertise the University of St Thomas’ facilities
     
  • Assist with catering events when needed
     
  • Complete the contracts before events and billing at the conclusion.
     
  • Other duties as assigned
     

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or a related field
  • Three years of professional events and conference management experience, preferably in higher education

An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Hospitality Management and/or Events/Conference management
