JOB SUMMARY
The University of St. Thomas (UST) Center for Microgrid Research is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral scholar position in the area of microgrid controls and modeling. The post-doc scholar will have a unique opportunity to work simultaneously on a real-world industry-grade microgrid and Hardware-in-the-loop HIL testbed. The post-doc scholar will create and optimize microgrid controllers and HIL models, collect experimental data, supervise students, publish findings, participate in grant writing, and contribute to the Center’s success.
This position is grant-funded. We anticipate this to be a one year, benefits-eligible term appointment, dependent on the needs of the department.
The University of St Thomas (UST) School of Engineering (SOE) is a primarily undergraduate teaching institution focusing on engineering education within the context of a liberal arts framework. As part of the largest private university in Minnesota, the School of Engineering comprises nearly 15% of the campus population. Minimum Qualifications
Proven expertise in microgrid modeling and controls in Matlab/Simulink or similar
Demonstrated publication record
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Hardware-in-the-loop testbeds such as OPAL RT
Experience with industrial control languages such as IEC 61131-3
Experience with Python or similar
