    JOB SUMMARY

    The System Analyst works within the Institutional Advancement department at both The Saint Paul Seminary and St. John Vianney College Seminary. This person is responsible for the day-to-day management of the database, coordinates development mailings, tracks and analyzes giving trends, and interfaces with both the UST Controller’s Office and the seminaries’ business administrator.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Support Annual Fundraising
      • Produce queries for all development mailings and email communications including direct mail programs for SPSSOD and SJV, phone-a-thons, Give to the Max Day, newsletters and golf tournaments.
      • Assist with prospect research and provide event support as needed.
    • Database Management
      • Ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
      • Develops process for data cleansing.
      • Creates and updates constituent records.
      • Acts as primary liaison to Blackbaud and UST Information and Technology Services.
      • Responsible for training and best practices for database use.
      • Updates gift processing manual as needed.
      • Acts as back-up to gift processor.
    • Reports and Queries
      • Tracks and analyzes giving to SPS and SJV. Provides statistical analysis of advancement efforts for strategic planning purposes.
      • Creates weekly and monthly giving reports for both SPS and SJV, the annual report for both institutions, the Association of Theological Schools report, and reconciliation reports.
      • Interfaces with UST development office, UST Controller’s office and the SPS/SJV business office.
      • Provides additional queries for development staff as needed.

    This is a term assignment, benefits eligible position.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
    • Three years of professional level experience providing technical and systems design and development
    • Experience to include the following: demonstrated technical skill designing and developing tools in student information systems and databases, including ERP, imaging solutions and reporting; experience with database design and data manipulation; and identifying and troubleshooting information integrity issues.

    This is a term assignment, benefits eligible position.

     

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Experience in development
    • Familiarity with the use of database management tools such as Raiser’s Edge
