The Stockroom Manager primarily supports the teaching, research, and outreach activities of the Chemistry Department. Responsibilities include assisting faculty with the development/revision of lab experiments, maintaining inventory of chemicals and equipment (purchasing, repair, maintenance, inventory management), seeing that inventory and related information is available for faculty and students, disposing of hazardous waste, maintaining lab facilities. Proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals is subject to governmental regulations; OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency, Ramsey County. Other organizational units at UST also utilize the services of the stockroom including Facilities Management, School of Engineering, and all Science Division departments.
