    The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Part-Time Program Manager 1 (.5 FTE) position within the Office for Diversity and Inclusion.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The program manager for the Office for Diversity and Inclusion leads program design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of all programs to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of St. Thomas. The director works in partnership with other departments, student organizations, and the extended St. Thomas community. The director reports to the Associate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion and engages regularly with staff to achieve program outcomes. The director’s primary responsibility is to ensure the office builds strategic partnerships with internal and external partners and creates programming which advances St. Thomas’ diversity mission.

     

    The Office of Diversity and Inclusion seeks to create a University culture where all members of the community can thrive. In doing so, the Office works collaboratively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students to create a campus culture that values the unique contributions that all bring to the University of St. Thomas community.

     

    This is a one year term assignment. The position is expected to last at least one year, depending on the business needs of the department.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    STRATEGY|DEVELOPMENT

    • Support implementation of strategic priorities, sustainability plan, and equity goals.
    • Advance goals and objectives of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion.
    • Identify multiple funding streams to guarantee uninterrupted program outcomes.
    • Develop and sustain new programs to support the strategic direction of the university.
    • Produce accurate and timely reporting of programming over life cycle.

    LEARNING DESIGN

    • Research best practices and trends in diversity, equity and inclusion to be included in curriculum and training opportunities.
    • Collaborate with St. Thomas and community stakeholders to create new ways to engage learners, foster global citizenship, and promote leadership development.
    • Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the University.
    • Work with undergraduate and graduate interns.

    COMMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

    • Collaborate with St. Thomas leadership (faculty, staff, and students) to spearhead opportunities that foster and create access to research, learning and development around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Build and cultivate relationships through networking and attendance at other global, national, and local conference and events.
    • Oversee K-12 pipelining initiatives.

    GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT

    • Build partnerships with international stakeholders in Africa to expand St. Thomas’ global impact, create new learning opportunities, and promote global citizenship.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Three years of experience in program administration

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline, (policy, leadership, youth development, etc.)
    • Multilingual
    • Experience in developing programming related to youth development, leadership development, community development, and global engagement
    • Previous work experience and/or study abroad experience in Africa
    • Scholarly research experience
