The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Web Content Specialist position within the Marketing, Insights and Communications Department.

This is a temporary, one year term assignment, benefits eligible position. The position is expected to last at least one year, depending on the business needs of the department.



The Web Content Specialist will report to the Digital Project Manager on the Marketing, Insights, and Communications team. This position will create web pages on behalf of content contributors from across the University, will be responsible for final copy editing, creation of digital assets, and production and maintenance of the current and new content management systems (Terminal4 and Cascade).




  • Act as a "production" artist on all University websites undergoing a major redesign by creating web pages based on approved wireframes by: inputting content, images, and ensuring the page is built following ADA standards. 
  • Respond to daily requests from the University's staff for creating, updating, or maintaining web content. 
  • Assist in the development, customization, and maintenance of the content management system (CMS). 
  • Review and edit content submitted ensuring that it adheres to AP style as well as the University’s style guide.
  • Attend pertinent partner meetings and project meetings as requested. Keep current on email and related staff communications, training, and other related items. 






Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Two years of relevant professional level experience to include professional writing experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more Content Management Systems 
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with T4, Cascade or Unily
